Club Debate to take place Nov 19
The club debate will take place Nov 19th in the first half of the meeting, instead of Table Topics. Two teams, each with 3 speakers, will debate For and Against the debate topic. Each speaker will speak for up to 2 min. A speaker who goes over will disqualify their entire team.

The club debate presents a unique opportunity for members to practice debating, critical thinking, and performing under pressure. One week before the debate, teams will be finalized and informed of 2 potential debate topics, allowing them time to plan for the debate. The winning debate team will have their names engraved on the Debate trophy.

If you would like to participate in the debate, please contact Ken Bell.

Tall Tales contest to take place Dec 10
The Club Tall Tales contest will take place Dec 10th. A tall tale is a humorous story which uses exagerations and is improbable in nature. The speech must be 3-5 min. Any member in good standing can participate in the contest. The winner will represent the club in the Area contest in early 2026.

In addition to contestants, we also need members to take on some important contest roles, such as Contest Chair, Chief Judge, Judges, Timers, and Ballot Counters. If you are interested in competing or would like to take on a contest role, please inform the Club President.
